10th Madrid+d Science Week

     The Ministry of Science and Innovation is aware of the need for creating a social environment more favorable to science and innovation. It supports and coordinates statewide the activities connected to this topic through the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

     One of the events that are set up on annual basis by these institutions is the Science Week, where the VISAVET Health Surveillance Centre of the Complutense University participates actively as a member of the Agro-Food Corridor of the CEI Moncloa.

     In this way, the secondary school and preuniversitary students have the possibility of approaching to related topics to Animal Health and Food Safety, and of participating in the workshops and activities, specifically prepared for this event.

     The developed activity by the VISAVET Centre in the Agri-Food Cluster of CEI Moncloa was: “the Agri-Food Corridor of Moncloa”  with the guided visits that take place in the different Centres of Investigation of the aforementioned Corridor: the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Clinical Veterinary Hospital, the Veterinary Museum, and the VISAVET Centre of Complutense University, and the last option, the field of practice of the E.T.S.I. Agronomic School of Polytechnic University of Madrid.

     The meeting was started with a speech at the main hall of the Veterinary School. Then, the assistants had the opportunity to visit the centres of investigation that participate in the Agri-Food Corridor of Moncloa and to enjoy the planned activities exclusively for this 10th Edition of the  Madri+d Science Week.
