Analysis of suspected animals of rabies in VISAVET

Research Center of the University Complutense of Madrid collaborates with Rabies Reference Laboratory in the analysis of dogs suspected of being rabid in Spain

On June 5, 2013 was officially confirmed a case of rabies in a dog in the province of Toledo after attacking three children. Based on the Contingency Plan for Control of Rabies in Animals in Spain, was declared a perimeter of 20-km radius around the outbreak. Currently VISAVET Center is working with the National Reference Laboratory (National Microbiology Center Instituto de Salud Carlos III), in the analysis of suspect animals in Spain
