Franz J. Conraths, head of the Department of Epidemiology of the German Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, will give a seminar on April 16 at the Hall of Degrees of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine UCM, entitled Epidemiological analysis of outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, subtype H5N8, in Germany.

 

FLI maintains an epidemiological advisory group that investigates disease outbreaks together with the local veterinary authority. In the case of H5N8, the advisory group was involved in the epidemiological work-up of all outbreaks in Germany and cooperated with colleagues in the UK, the Netherlands and Italy on the epidemiology of H5N8 in Europe.
