Veterinary Students and Professional Association of Veterinarians of Spain join the mass mobilization, which was held today December 17 at 12 am in Spain.

The Spanish Conference of Deans of Veterinary Medicine (CDVE) warns that building more schools Veterinary provided in our country seriously hurt future veterinarians and all the professional sector because it will be a great loss of current academic level supported by the Union European, overdimensioned the national offer of these studies, saturate the job market,  increasing unemployment and job insecurity, and also trigger the severe economic deficit of the Spanish public universities. 

The CDVE warns that there are in Spain more faculties than necessary. The European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) and the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE), who are responsible for veterinary studies across the EU meet minimum standards of quality and homogeneous, consider it enough with a faculty by every 7-10 million for a member state count with good veterinary services. To maintain that standard, in Spain suffice to be between 4 and 7 centres: range well below the current 12 centres and, of course, far from 14-17 may exist shortly.
