VISAVET patented a strain of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis type II and its applications

The invention includes a PCR for the detection of other strains lacking mce genes

The present invention relates to a novel strain of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis has suffered a deletion of the 16.3 Kb lacking mce genes (mammalian cell entry). It also relates to a PCR method to detect other strains of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis lacking these genes
