Tuberculosis remains a serious public health problem worldwide. Although current tests and technologies demonstrate a high capacity for detecting the disease, they still do not meet all diagnostic needs. Some of the limitations are related to intrinsic biological factors of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, including its ability to enter dormancy and induce latent infection in the host, which will be addressed in this seminar
