El Laboratorio de referencia europeo para la tuberculosis bovina celebra su tercer workshop
El laboratorio de referencia europeo (EURL) para la tuberculosis bovina, ubicado en el Centro VISAVET de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, organiza del 15 al 16 de diciembre de 2011 una reunión europea donde se estudiarán los avances obtenidos en las técnicas de diagnóstico y control de la enfermedad, así como los logros conseguidos en su estandarización
La erradicación de la infección en el ganado bovino por las especies del complejo Mycobacterium tuberculosis causantes de enfermedad sigue siendo uno de los objetivos pendientes de la Unión Europea, que anualmente dedica importantes esfuerzos en la reducción de los niveles de prevalencia e incidencia.
A pesar de los progresos alcanzados en lo referente al conocimiento de la patogenia de la enfermedad y a su posible diagnóstico, no ha podido alcanzarse su erradicación debido a una serie de factores que, en determinados contextos epidemiológicos, complican su control.
La variabilidad inherente a la prueba de la intradermotuberculinización, técnica de diagnóstico de primera línea en la lucha frente a la enfermedad, dificulta su estandarización, motivo por el cual son necesarios esfuerzos coordinados por parte de la comunidad científica y las administraciones para su optimización. De igual forma, el desarrollo de potenciales métodos de diagnóstico complementarios en determinadas situaciones abre nuevas posibilidades en el campo de la lucha frente a la enfermedad que deben ser evaluadas convenientemente.A la reunión acude representación de Dirección General de Salud y Consumidores de la Comisión Europea, del EURL, de 23 laboratorios nacionales de referencia (NRLs) de Europa así como del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Medio Rural y Marino de España.…
