Immunology is an area of research, development and transfer, essential in pig health and pig production. Although its progress is based on the study of the basic concepts of the body`s defense mechanisms against foreign elements and pathogens, the highly applicable aspects of swine immunology for its use in prevention, diagnosis, control and eradication of swine infectious diseases have a decisive influence in its development as a science, which cannot make us forget the need to strengthen the basic investigation of the characteristic immune response of the pig, in many aspects, very distinctive and unknown
