Program

Summary

Zoonoses remain a substantial burden for public health. While some of the more traditional zoonotic pathogens, particularly foodborne zoonoses, have been controlled effectively in developed countries, there remain significant issues in combatting zoonotic diseases both in the developed and in the developing world. Zoonootic organisms are emerging, or re-emerging, to become significant challenges as our world and environment change and antimicrobial resistance. MedVetNet 2015 is aimed at public health, food and veterinary researchers working in the field of zoonoses and will address a number of new and emerging threats under 4 main symposia:
Epidemiological surveillance and outbreak control of zoonoses
(re-)Emerging and neglected zoonotic agents
Impact of globalisation and climate change
Antimicrobial resistance
Top level speakers are invited to participate and debate on the main conference themes
