Genetic characterization of swine clinical isolates of Haemophilus parasuis by MLST analysis

Poster communication in 5th Annual Scientific Meeting on Zoonoses Research in Europe

June 3rd, 2009

Cruz F., Vela AI. and Fernandez-Garayzabal JF.

Haemophilus parasuis is the aetiological agent of Glässer´s disease. In addition, this bacterium is associated with pneumonic processes in swine. The present study used MLST (multilocus sequence typing)analysis to characterize 53 H. parasuis clinical isolates (29 from systemic infections and 24 from pneumonic lesions) collected in several Spanish regions, in order to provide a better understanding of the epidemiological relationships in this bacterium
