Q fever is a highly contagious zoonosis distributed worldwide, caused by the bacterium Coxiella burnetii. The main reservoirs are domestic ruminants, with small ruminant species more frequently associated with human outbreaks. In this study, seroprevalence levels, spatial distribution and possible associated risk factors were determined in small ruminants in Madrid, a region of Spain with high prevalence of the disease in cattle
