He combines his dedication to research and teaching with a care work since 1991, mainly in the diagnosis of biopsies and performing necropsies, being attached to the Pathological Anatomy Service of the Hospital Clínico Veterinario Complutense since 1998. In 2007 he began to carry out his scientific and research activity at the Veterinary Sanitary Surveillance Center (VISAVET-UCM), where he was subsequently appointed Head of the Pathology and Forensic Veterinary Service (SAP). Likewise, in 2013 it also became part of the VISAVET-BRUKER Service, where it began to launch different lines of research in relation to mass spectrometry techniques (MALDI-TOF). In order to specialize in this field, he made a stay at the Center for Cooperative Research in Biosciences (CIC bioGUNE) of Vizcaya, as well as different courses at the headquarters of BRUKER in Bremen (Germany).
He has extensive knowledge in the design of experimental procedures to evaluate pathological alterations induced by different species of mycobacteria in domestic and experimental animals, in the design of diagnostic tests, and has participated in the establishment of the vaccine efficacy of a vaccine strain of Brucella abortus RB51 in cattle (principal investigator – project "Study demonstrating the absence of transmission of the RB-51 vaccine (Brucella abortus) and distribution of the vaccine strain in the vaccinated calf). He has extensive experience in the implementation of ISO 17025 quality standards for the performance of tests related to the detection of trichinosis. His work as a veterinarian expert in detection techniques in the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) and in the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 Management System Certification Entity (EQA - European Quality Assurance) show his capacity as evaluating auditor.
