Morphology
Adult: wide posteriorlyand tapering anteriorly transparent-pinkish maximum size of ≈ 25 mm long by 5 mm wide The oral and ventral sucker are away from each other The intestinal ceca are simple The vitelline glands lie in the middle third of the side margins of the body The testes are multi-branched and lie posteriorly in the body The eggs are small (≈ 27-35 x 12-20 µm) and have a thick yellowish-brown wall with a conspicuous operculum Eggs contain a miracidium when passed in the faeces
