Adult: conical (maggot-like) rather than flat shape Small size (≈ 1 cm long) Large ventral sucker (acetabulum) in subterminal position The gut is simple, with two branches The two testes are lobed, situated in tandem in mid-body The ovary is subspherical, post-testicular and pre-acetabular Eggs (≈150-180 µm) are operculate, unembryonated and clear light brown in colour
